Sophie Rousseaux promoted to Associate Professor

Sophie Rousseaux has been promoted to Associate Professor with tenure, effective July 1st, 2022. Rousseaux joined the Department of Chemistry in 2015 and has been quick to establish an active research program in metal catalysis and organic synthesis.

The Rousseaux Group have developed new synthetic methods and studied reaction mechanisms. Her work has attracted the attention of the catalysis community and she has received many invitations to present her group’s research discoveries.

She currently holds a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair, and she has been the recipient of several other awards including a Sloan Research Fellowship, a Dorothy Shoichet Women Faculty Science Award of Excellence, and most recently an Early Career Supervision Award from the School of Graduate Studies. In addition to her research, Sophie is an outstanding lecturer and mentor, as the latter award shows.
