To assist your understanding of our health, safety and environmental policies and procedures, our Department Safety Committee has developed this online Safety Orientation Guide. All new staff, graduate students, undergraduates who work in the research lab, postdoctoral fellows, and researchers are expected to review this guide before working in the department, and to continue working in a safe manner.
The purpose of this site is to provide a starting point for reviewing Health & Safety information and a reference point for use by Department of Chemistry students, staff and visitors. Please note that the Department requires new researchers, visitors and staff to complete our in-person Safety Orientation Course before working in any lab or facility. This course is mandatory for all students and visitors (that is, anyone who will be working in a lab regardless of what type) before undertaking research or work in a research lab.
