Visiting the Department

Applicants residing in North America who are offered admission to the graduate program in Chemistry are invited to visit the Department to tour our facilities and meet with members of our research faculty and a few of our current students.

We would be happy to provide financial assistance toward economy class travel and lodging (to a maximum of $600 CAD). Once you have been offered admission, please contact the Chemistry Graduate Office to arrange your visit. Students should notify us of their intended visit at least two weeks in advance so that a proper itinerary may be arranged.

Successful domestic applicants who meet the early deadline of February 1 will be invited to our Graduate Student Weekend.

Graduate Student Weekend

Students who have been offered admission by the end of February will receive a special invitation to our Graduate Student Weekend which will take place between Thursday, February 29 and Saturday, March 2, 2024.

Joined by other successful applicants, students will have the opportunity to virtually meet with various faculty members (either in a group setting or one-on-one appointments) and network with our current students to learn more about life of a graduate student. Visiting students will also have a chance to learn about the exciting research opportunities available and meet with our facilities managers at all three campuses.

Apply by the early deadline of February 1 in order to ensure receipt of invite.
