Professor Jon Abbatt is this year's CIC Medal recipient. This is the highest honour from the Chemical Institute of Canada and is presented as a mark of distinction to a person who has made an outstanding contribution to the science of chemistry or chemical engineering in Canada.
He joins a long list of Department of Chemistry faculty members to win this honour, with Eugenia Kumacheva most recently receiving the CIC Medal in 2017. Abbatt will give a plenary lecture at this year's Canadian Chemistry Conference and Exhibition in Winnipeg.
