Early Bird Registration for Green Chemistry Initiative Symposium runs to April

March 25, 2024 by Alyx Dellamonica

Time is running out for early bird registration for the Green Chemistry Initiative Symposium 2024, which will run May 15-17.

The 9th edition of this successful conference will hosted in collaboration with McGill University this year. It is entitled “Making Greener Choices: A more sustainable approach to chemistry."

The conference aims to encourage students to implement more sustainable practices in their research, teaching, and careers, by connecting chemistry community members with current leaders in the field to discuss advances in chemical processes and the future of sustainable research practices. "Building upon last year's goal of establishing a unified definition of Green Chemistry, our principal focus this year is to equip attendees with practical tools, empowering them to integrate green chemistry into their research and educational pursuits."

UofT Chemistry professors John De Backere and Barb Morra will host a joint seminar for attendees.

Event registration can be accessed via Eventbrite. For more information about the symposium, a speakers' list and to learn about submitting  a poster abstract or applying for funding and travel scholarships for attendees, visit the GCI Symposium 2024 page on the Green Chemistry Initiative site.
