Chemistry’s Lisa Ngo is this year’s winner of the Outstanding Staff Award.
The honour is awarded to a staff member who has demonstrated ongoing distinguished service to the department, or exceptional performance in a project or service effort. In a message about the award sent to the Chemistry department, Chair Mark Lautens expressed appreciation for Lisa's exemplary work in the Chemistry Business Office, citing her tendency to routinely go above and beyond to help coworkers to resolve financial challenges and other difficult situations. The award recognizes her diligence, professionalism and wide-ranging expertise with the complexities of administrating grants and funding for graduate students, qualities recognized by Chemistry’s faculty, students and staff.
Speaking about the honor at the awards presentation, Ngo said: "More important than receiving the award itself is the recognition and supportive environment we have here in our department. It’s a great feeling to learn that you have been nominated."
The Chemistry Awards Ceremony took place on May 29th, in the Davenport Atrium of Lash Miller Hall.
