The Department of Chemistry is excited to welcome Professor Barbara Sherwood Lollar who has been cross-appointed from the Department of Earth Sciences. Sherwood Lollar has spent the last two decades expanding our understanding of the groundwater that sits deep below the Earth’s crust.

This summer, Julian Lamanna was named as one of 2017’s Vanier Scholars, Canada’s most prestigious award for doctoral studies. Lamanna, who is supervised by Professor Aaron Wheeler, was one of 13 U of T students to win the award in the area of health research.

Dwight Seferos wins Harry Gray Award

Professor Dwight Seferos has been named the recipient of the 2018 Harry Gray Award for Creative Work in Inorganic Chemistry by a Young Investigator. This award – given out annually by the American Chemical Society – recognizes the significant impact Seferos has had in multidisciplinary inorganic chemistry.
