Gallery: CHM499 Poster Session 2026

March 31, 2026 by Alyx Dellamonica

CHM499 held its poster session on Friday, March 27, showcasing work by undergraduate researchers working in labs throughout the Chemistry Department.

According to Prof. David Stone, CHM499 is an overview of the research process—a first introduction, for many chemistry learners, to the possibility of a career in STEM, and a way to test the waters for graduate school. Students must apply for admission and, once accepted, work under the supervision of a professor in the department. Postdoctoral fellows and graduate students also support and mentor participants.

This year’s session featured so many students that it had to be broken into both a morning and afternoon session, a first for the Department. The Davenport Atrium was host to work by Analytical, Biological, Computational, Environmental and Organic chemists in the morning.

Later, in the afternoon, the session featured additional Computational and Environmental posters as well as work by Inorganic, Materials/Inorganic, Materials/Polymer, Physical, Physical/Materials, Polymer/organic and Theoretical Chemistry chemists.

The annual presentation is a much-anticipated event by members of the Chemistry community. Everyone is welcome to participate: to view a poster and simultaneously take the chance to both support a student and learn by asking questions about their research results.
