February 2, 2026 by Alyx Dellamonica

The newest department EDI Initiative, a monthly postdoc and early career researcher coffee hour, launched on Thursday January 29th.

Chemistry postdoctoral fellows pose with coffee cups.
(L-R) Jonatas Faleiro Berbigier and Ailsa Edward from the Seferos group,
Francis Buguis, Abe Herzog-Arbeitman, and Ishrath Irshadeen from Team Tran, and Yong Jia Bu (Jamie) of the Cui Lab

The invitation encouraged postdocs at U of T Chemistry to connect, network and share ideas, as well as taking a break from the lab.

Professor Doug Stephan's article, “Frustrated Lewis pairs reactivity across the periodic table: The 2024 Catalysis Award Lecture”, has earned the distinction of being Canadian Journal of Chemistry’s most read paper of the year. This milestone reflects the strong interest and significant impact Stephan's  research has generated within the scientific community.

Placard congratulating Doug Stephan on having the most-read article in 2025
